Why is my print quality low?

Why is my print quality low?

If you have low-quality prints, there are many reasons that could cause this. To troubleshoot and get help, please call us or send us an email. Our pad printing experts will help you troubleshoot and solve this printing problem.

Let’s review the several causes of low-quality prints. One of the major causes of low-quality printing is old and worn-out pad printing supplies and parts. We recommend that you inspect and replace the worn-out parts of your equipment and the pad printing supplies. Both pad printing pads and plates wear out as you print. Therefore, consider replacing these supplies even where you have no visible signs of wear.

Pads for pad printers last anywhere between 50,000 and 100,000. A major contributor is usage, storage, and maintenance. It is important to have a variety of pads at your facility to use for different printing applications. Lastly, always have spare pads.

Pad printing plate material also comes in a wide variety of materials and has different expected impressions. Thick steel plates, for example, can last up to 2,000,000 impressions. On the other hand, electroplates have a life span of 25,000 impressions, and so do polymer pad printing plates.

Therefore, if you are experiencing poor-quality prints, inspect the pad, check the pad printing plate, and replace them if necessary. Lastly, make sure that you are using the correct pad-printing ink mixture. Learn more about the available pad-printing plate materials.
